Great things take time – We can & We Will!!

The past one year has been extremely tough for many, but I am glad to have been through this since it made me realize the true potential of my organization and the heights we can reach. The Pandemic has in fact changed the way we think and work as an organization for the better.

We started the year 2020 at our new premises Brigade Software Park with a new zeal and had the complete plan ready for the coming year. Little did we know that it was just the calm before the storm. In March 2020, the global pandemic made its appearance and turned the world upside down.

At the peak of our business, the Government announced Lockdown 1.0, followed by lockdown 2.0, lockdown 3.0 for 21 days and so on. The biggest challenge for us was to overcome the downfall in the real estate market which makes up the core of our business.  We, as Fidelitus had to immediately come up with other alternatives to keep the company going. This is when we started our fumigation and sterilization services and were able to pick it up well with the increasing demand due to the pandemic. The Government recognized us and gave permission to fumigate Government Schools and SSLC exam centers. We also provided disinfectant tunnels for police stations in Karnataka. In no time, we were fumigating, corporates, the major Government Buildings and Public sector unions and slowly extended this to residentials as well.

During these times, we got a major break in the Real estate vertical when we leased out giant e-commerce organisation. When the IT and E-Commerce market was dropping down with the work from home culture in place, it became tough to keep the numbers growing. This is when we explored into a new market, logistics with major players in the industry as our clients post-lockdown. This was our new ray of hope during the completing of the second quarter.

When we had to deliver the projects to clients in the stream of German based electronics manufacturers,  Wipro’s domestic IT Business – Leader in India’s MPS Market , parent firm of JSW’s,  we faced a shortage of resources from materials to manpower. Even in this critical situation, my project team ensured that there were no shortcomings in the delivery of all the projects and ensured that they were completed on time. We saw a drop in manpower in the Facility Management team as well and to overcome this, we got into tender participation to PSUs and Government bodies. This gave a boost to our manpower which helped us target residential spaces as well.

Post lockdown, for a noble cause we organized India’s first ever masterpiece sculpture exhibition Malenadina Mukhagalu with 50+ chief guests including Bengaluru South MP and My friend Tejasvi Surya, Director of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research – Dr. C N Manjunath and many along a period of 21 days who were honored with art from the Fidelitus Art Gallery, to boost the confidence of the artists, encourage their art and show that our Art Gallery is up and running.

The downsizing of companies became a major threat to our Recruitment vertical. This is when our initiative with MP Tejasvi Surya, Sansad Udyog Mitra though Shilpa Foundation came into place during the last quarter. A job drive is organized on the last Sunday of every month which has helped 1000+ candidates land a job from the entry level to senior level positions.

As we believe in giving back to the society, Shilpa Foundation provided smart class equipment to Government schools, basic essentials to the covid warriors for risking their lives for the well-being of others. As a step towards a greener environment, a sapling plantation program, Think Green was organized.

Everything was running smoothly in the organization, with all the verticals performing their best. This is when I saw the toughest phase of my life. I was tested positive for Covid during the festive season*, which kept me away from the Organization for three weeks. I was reunited with my team on the prosperous day of Diwali when I was filled with joy as I could see that, in spite of my absence, my team was able to keep the performance graph of the company going high. This is when I realized the true potential of my team and the wonders they can achieve even without my guidance. The beginning of new year, filled us with positive energy and pushed us to close the transactions with Engineering and Technology Services Organisations where we assisted them to move to better locations with wide range space of 40,000 Sq.ft (Hosur Road) in the silicon valley , Another 25,000 Sq.ft (Electronic City –Phase 1) for US based Engineering Services Company meanwhile while closing the 1st quarter of 2021 our transaction team completed with the finishing move of 15,000 Sq.ft space (Old Airport Road) for leading Artificial Intellegence(AI) Company  and in the end of maiden quarter year majorly we closed with 2,50,000 Sq.ft Space(Hosur Road) for the giant pharma company by getting the project approved. During the Unlock series of the Pandemic projects including ABVP, MyString and Sowparnika were launched.

I was overwhelmed when I was awarded the prestigious Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Award on September 10th 2020, for our contribution to the society during the Covid Times. This award is wholly dedicated to my team for the efforts and hardwork they’ve put in to make all our initiatives successful and empowering.I am happy to be a part of such a dynamic team and how we’ve been able to overcome all the hurdles and rise to the top even during such tough times and promise to never stop hustling and working hard. Tough times may come and go but tough people stay forever. We do not have control on what life throws at us, but what we can control are the decisions and steps we take during the tough times and that is what makes us different from others. Facing such difficulties will only make us come back stronger and tougher making us ready for the next challenge.
